Farmore Farms Welsh Ponies
Ballerina is a 1999 chestnut filly by Eyarth Rio. Rio is also the sire of Telynau Royal Charter. Ballerina was imported in December of 2000, and is now owned by Linda Burgin.

Ballerina's dam is Douthwaite Swan Lake (Tetworth Nijinski x Downland Songbird). Swan Lake was a Champion Mare many times over and has produced many prize winning foals. She was shown as a barren mare for Brockwood Farm and Judy and Alan Patterson.  She was once again the top Section B mare in their SNWPCA English Points competition. She attended 11 shows gaining 3 Supreme Championships, 3 Reserve Supreme Championships, 7 Championships, 2 Reserve Championships along with another Welsh Medal.

Ballerina's  2000 show record in Wales includes a second place finish on April 1 and now a first at the Gwynedd Show on April 8.  She went on to be Reserve Youngstock Champion to the 3 year-old colt winner and then beat the stallion and the barren mares to be Reserve Overall Champion Section B to the same colt. Then at Anglesey, Ballerina won her class and a Charter daughter was second. Ballerina was Reserve Youngstock and Reserve Section B. In June, Ballerina was third in a huge class at the Northern All Welsh Silver Medal Show. Telynau Royal Diadem (full sister to Charter) went on to be Champion and Silver Medal Winner.

Tammy Burgin has been showing this filly for Linda Burgin in the US.  She was shown at the Pony UP 2001 hunter and sport pony show. She won the mares/sport pony, the mares/hunter pony and was overall hunter pony (in-hand) Champion.

This filly then went on to win a lovely class of 2 year-old colts and fillies at the Bronze Welsh show in Creston,  California.   She also went Champion Section B Pony. Then it was to the Golden Gate Classic in Woodside where Ballerina placed first in the 2 year-old fillies.

The following weekend she was 2nd in a lovely class of 2 year-olds at the American National. Two weeks later she was first and Best Young Pony both days at the PEC Pony Hunter Breeding Division under both judges.

Then it was on to Washington for the North West Welsh Classic. Ballerina not only won her age division under both judges, she was also Youngstock Champion under both judges and Reserve Grand Champon Section B to Telynau Royal Charter! Not bad for a 2 year-old. In September 2001, Ballerina matched these fabulous placings at the Pacific Coast Classic in Paso Robles. She won her class, was Youngstock Champion under both judges and then Reserve Grand Champion Section B (both judges) to the Champion Telynau Royal Charter! Ballerina ended the year, 2001, with the SAHJA Year End High Point Pony Hunter Breeding Division winning a cooler and a 3 foot high perpetual trophy. She also tied for Champion Sec B mare for the 2001 Pacific Coast WPCAC and was the 2001 Champion Sec B Filly for the WPCSA High Score SW Region. This is just the beginning for this fabulous half sister to *Telynau Royal Charter.

In 2002, Ballerina won a blue ribbon in her age division and Best Young Pony on her first outing! She then went back in the ring for her first time off the lead! She won her Maiden Pleasure class against horses. We are so proud of her accomplishments.  She next placed fourth and fifth at a schooling show with 19 entries in each class with a child rider who was visiting for spring break.

Her next show, Albany, Oregon, Ballerina was a total STAR! She not only won her Section B Mare class under both judges, but was Senior Section B Champion, Grand Champion Section B  and double Supreme Champion of the show. The judges were India Haynes and Bitsy Shields. Then it was on to the Delta Breeze show in Elk Grove.  Ballerina was first and the Champion Section B Mare and also Division Champion Junior English Pleasure.

At the Santa Barbara National, she was first and Champion Section B Mare and Reserve Champion Section B to Herd Sire (and half brother), *Telynau Royal Charter! She also won a lovely English Pleasure class with rider, Chelsea Laatsch and was reserve Division Champion.

At a show in Eugene, Oregon, she won her class and was Champion Senior Section B Mare. She also was the division Champion for junior English Pleasure under judge Anne Hackney! Division Champion and winner of all three junior English Pleasure classes at the 2002 Western National Welsh show, she did it again at the final show of the season, the Halloween Haunt in Creston, CA.  Ballerina came back for one show in 2007 and was Reserve Division Champion 17/under Hunter at the American National Show and Division Champion English Pleasure 17/under with Matisse Geenty!
