WPCSA Sire Order of the Dragon
Awarded to those whose progeny accumulate a total of 25,000 points
It only seems fitting that *Telynau Royal Charter brings Farmore Farms Welsh
Ponies our first Order of the Dragon. Charter has been the bright light at
Farmore Farms for many years. He retired from the show ring after winning
double Supreme at the 2004 American National Welsh show along with Hunter
and English Pleasure Division Championships to top off a fabulous show and
year. With his Individual Legion of Merit and Award of Excellence it seemed
like the right time to retire him and bring out his kids.
At home in California, Charter leads a very quiet life, giving lessons to
children learning to canter and breeding the occasional mare. He is the sire
of five ponies shown by Farmore Farms in 2009 and all did remarkably well
with different riders and under different judges.
Charter and his get seem to be the top choice of many for which we are very
proud.
His young stock are going Champion over all sections at Tulsa each year we
have attended and his get old enough to go under saddle are Champion or
Reserve in English and Western Pleasure. He has sired top selling young
stock at public sales as well as at home. His oldest are now going over
fences and we are just now reaping the rewards of his stock in this country.
We are very proud and blessed to have this wonderful stallion to reach our
breeding goals at Farmore Farms. We thank David Jones and Geraint Thomas of
the Telynau Stud for allowing their BEST to come to the USA. When they say
"it takes a village to raise a child", well in equine terms it takes a very
special stallion to make the farm and Charter takes that task to the highest
level and beyond. We are honored to share our lives with this lovely
stallion.
